The Cromhouthuis is the name of a museum that used to be part of a huge residential building belonging to the Cromhout family. Explore one of Amsterdam’s finest canal-side houses and get acquainted with the Cromhout family. For nearly two centuries, the family resided in four regal buildings on Amsterdam’s stylish Herengracht canal. Hundreds of years later, the buildings are still as impressive and distinguished as they were in the Golden Age. Since 1975. While walking through the various rooms, you will learn more about the family, their influence and their international contacts. You will learn what they meant to the city and see their vast art and curiosity collection. Besides that the museum is also the home of a biblical museum which features a collection of ancient and historical bibles.
