The Dutch in Paris

Art Expo

The Van Gogh Museum is exploring the love affair between Dutch artists and the French capital. Seen through the eyes of eight painters, the museum tells the tale of why the Dutch were so drawn to Paris. This fall, let the works of the likes of Breitner, Van Gogh, and Mondrian show you how the City of Light influenced these artists, and vice versa.

In the exhibition The Dutch in Paris 1789–1914, Paris is presented as seen through the eyes and hearts of eight Dutch artists. Some of their names are less known, such as Van Spaendonck, Scheffer, Jongkind, and Kaemmerer, but big stars Breitner, Van Gogh, Van Dongen and Mondrian are included, too. More than 120 works are on display, alongside some exclusive pieces of their French contemporaries. Together, they explain these artists’ relationship with Paris. Get your tickets now.
