Some events in the city are only this week or have their closing date in the near future. No worries though, we´ve got you covered. These are the events you shouldn´t miss this week.

  • This Saturday it is time for another edition of The Maker Market, this is one of the most exciting new markets in Amsterdam. During this monthly event you can pick up natural cosmetics, handcrafted leather items, furniture or some true delicacies. It is the place to be for creative locals or tourists that want to experience something different! Go by the market to pick up a one-of-a-kind gift or to enjoy a delicious delicacy made by one of the food stalls at the market.

Dutch masters hermitage 1

  • The Dutch Masters in the Hermitage is easily one of the biggest exhibitions of the year, this collection of masterpieces from the Hermitage in St Petersburg shines a light on the Dutch Masters. Travel back in time to the Netherlands’ Golden Age, and encounter an impressive array of the works that influenced artistic styles across a range of styles. The exhibition closes this week so go and check it out now. Added bonus! The newly discovered Rembrandt is also on display at the Hermitage.

 

Vincent on Friday 1

  • This Friday it is time for another Vincent on Friday at the Van Gogh Museum! This week it revolves around his fascination with Japan and how it influenced his art. Besides that the night centers around Japan in the current day and age with a documentary and chance to design your own van Gogh kimono.

 

  • The OBA (Oosterdokskade 143) organizes a hip hop festival on Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th of May. Participate in workshops or lectures and be inspired by music and dance during the Hip Hop Festival.
