The Perfect Weekend in Amsterdam
So, you have booked your ticket to our vibrant city. Let us be your Amsterdam City Guide and tell you what a great weekend in Amsterdam entails. Obviously, you have to start in the Museum Quarter, here you will find the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum and the Van Gogh Museum. Besides that, it is also home to the famous I Amsterdam sign and the beautiful Royal Concertgebouw. While you are here, don’t forget to check out the green oasis that is the Vondelpark and the luxurious high-end shopping street, the P.C. Hooftstraat.
On day two we urge you to visit the enchanting Jordaan. First stop is the Anne Frankhuis, book your tickets in advance to avoid lines, and after that you can explore the cute cobblestone streets and canals of this picturesque neighborhood. On Mondays and Saturdays the Jordaan is also the backdrop of the famous Noordermarkt which is full of organic food, antiques and curiosities. Not in the mood for shopping? You can learn more about Amsterdam’s history in WOII at the Jewish Historical Quarter. Also, don’t skip Amsterdam’s famous canal belt (Dutch: grachtengordel), this beautiful area was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2010. Other neighborhoods worth visiting are The Pijp with the Albert Cuyp Market and the Sarphatipark, Amsterdam East with it’s cool coffee bars and concept stores and Amsterdam North with the A’DAM Toren, A’DAM Lookout, This is Holland and many more highlights.
In the evenings you can visit the lively Red Light District that has much more to offer than adult entertainment! Besides that, Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein are the epicenter of Amsterdam’s nightlife, visit one of the clubs, bars, stand-up comedy or other live entertainment venues that we have selected for you.
